What Kleos does

A venue says what it is. Kleos repeats it, with the time it was true. When a person's assistant asks about the venue, it gets the venue's own words and what is open right now.

What an assistant is told

  • What the venue is, in its own words: its name, hours, menu and house rules.
  • What is open, as of a stated moment.
  • What can be held or ordered, at the venue's own prices.

What is never in it

Nothing about any person in the room. An assistant is never asked for a name, a number or a card, and would be refused if it offered one. A question stays just a question.

Consent

A hold or an order is made only after the person asking has agreed. Orders are paid to the venue through the venue's own payment provider.

The venue's record

Everything a venue declares, and every act made for it, is kept so the venue can check it. What a venue says about itself belongs to the venue.

How a room is used

Kleos records how a room fills and how people move through it, as positions on the venue's map, with no name, face, picture or device in it. A person's positions are joined for one evening only and can never be joined to another evening. Kleos uses this record, pooled across venues, to improve its service and to build models and simulated rooms, and never tries to tell who anyone was.
